About HAL
Barney, found with dog companion, and suspected sister, Betty, had apparently been abandoned and left in the country. At the time of rescue, the dogs were found running full-speed down a major highway, completely panicked by their situation. They looked hungry, desperate, and like they had been on the move for some time. They spent their first few weeks in rescue at the vet, gaining both weight and confidence. Barney is the more dominant of the two and quickly showed aggression toward other dogs, so he became a permanent resident. He is loving and playful with people and has outgrown most of his unpredictable behavior. In the summer, he is most often found at the top of his playhouse, surveying the farm and the place he calls home.
