Harpo

Harpo is a cow who has literally grown up at the sanctuary. He and his mother, Oprah, were rescued over a decade ago from terrible conditions. A farmer apparently fell on hard times and so completely abandoned his herd, leaving them to starve. All of the cows were rescued and went to different sanctuaries around the country. Harpo was actually still in the womb upon rescue, and Oprah, likely due to the lack of nutrients and trying to protect her baby, actually was over a month past-due. The end result is that Harpo grew up to be a VERY big boy. He actually is often seen kneeling down to graze because his legs are so long! He has been raised around loving people since birth, and thus is the most social of all of our cow friends.
