About HAL
Hello Friends,
We hope your summer is off to a stellar start. Here at the sanctuary, we're keeping busy with adoption days, fundraisers, and lots of mowing!! There's a lot going on this month, so read on!
Did you know June is Adopt-a-Cat Month? Well, you're in luck because we've got a bunch of fabulous felines just waiting for a friend like you! Check them out
or visit them in person at one of our adoption days at the Lexington Farmers' Market on Southland Drive:
June 13th 10am-2pm
June 27th 10am-2pm
At one of our May adoption days, Miss Marion, a cat who came to us several years ago from a terrible abuse situation, found a home! We love happy stories like this!
Don't forget... June 19th is Flamenco Fanfare!
Have you made your reservations yet?
This is going to be a wonderful evening with Flamenco Louisville, joined by local musicians from Lexington's own Alma Gitana.
June 19th 9pm
Natasha's Bistro, Lexington, KY
$12
Reservations can be made at online or by calling 859.259.2754. ALL proceeds from the show will go directly to helping the animals.
Then, the following weekend, June 26th, we're having a Walmart Wish List Day. We'll be set up at the Walmart on Hwy 127 in Lawrenceburg passing out our Wish Lists. Shoppers are encouraged to purchase items that will go directly to helping the animals. Items of particular need are kitty litter, paper towels, garbage bags and Frontline.
We've got a yard sale planned for July 10th and 11th, from 8am-4pm, at the Marathon Gas Station at the corner of Hwy 127 and Gilberts Creek Rd in Lawrenceburg, KY — but first, WE NEED YOUR STUFF!
We are accepting clean, gently-used items in sale condition to help raise funds for the animals. If you have items to donate, please contact Bob to make arrangements for collection. Then, come on out to the sale, get some great deals, and raise much needed funds for the animals in the process.
The entire month of June is National Disaster Preparedness Month for Animals - and nothing shows your animal friend that you care like making sure their needs are met and that they are safe if disaster strikes. Here's a few tips to keep in mind:
